Ira Narang is an incoming second-year undergraduate student and is majoring in Computational Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. She is also the Events Director for the Association of Computational Engineers. Currently, Ira is working as a research assistant for the Computational Hydraulics group and is focusing primarily on understanding flood modeling and hurricane storm surge. One of her ongoing projects consists of using modeling software, such as ADCIRC, to mitigate flood damage in socially vulnerable areas.
